Audi TT Coupe – A Massively Desirable Style Icon in the UK - Dispatch Weekly

November 13, 2018 - Reading time: 3 minutes

The Audi TT coupe rivals the Toyota GT86, Lexus RC and BMW 2 series with its innovative, practical and swift driving experience.

Although the third generation of the TT coupe was launched a few years ago and the new version is about to arrive by the end of this year. It doesn’t mean that the previous generation of the Audi TT was something of lower quality than the fourth generation. The third generation of the Audi TT was introduced back in 2014 as a budgeted sports coupe and it rivals the big names in the market at highly competitive prices.

The major competition involved consists of the BMW 2 series, Lexus RC coupe, Toyota GT86, Porsche Cayman, and the Nissan 370Z. Could you believe that these bigger names in the competition are far behind the TT?

Audi TT Engines

There’s an extensive range of Audi TT engines to power your TT, starting from a 1.8 and 2.0-TFSI petrol and an extra efficient 2.0-litre TDI diesel, to a warmer 2.0-litre TFSI in the TT S and an even muscular 2.5-litre TFSI in the TT RS. All these engines are ultra-efficient and powerful but you might find yourself in the need of an engine replacement, in this case, don’t go to the main dealer but simply search for an Audi TT Reconditioned Engine in the UK and get it fitted. Dependent on the engine option you prefer, there are both manual and S Tronic automatic gearboxes available, however, a choice between front-wheel power and Quattro all-wheel drive is also available. All combinations offered in the Audi TT are  excellent.

Why the Audi TT is still a style Icon?

All the bits and pieces that made the third generation of the TT so trendy – head-turning appearances, a pleasant interior, daily usability and prompt performance – remain, even though the vehicle as an entirety has been brought  up to date with the ultra-modern driving gadgets and technology of today. These features were not included in rival cars, even as optional features in the UK.

Glossy Styling and a Beautiful Exterior

The TT’s exterior styling is a great blend of the features introduced in the Mk1 and Mk2 models. The space between the front and rear wheels has grown and the third generation model was built on the same platform as the one from the Volkswagen Golf to the SEAT Ateca, but the car’s total size remains the same, making for super-quick front and rear projections. In the third generation, the TT wears new LED headlights and taillights with some neat touches including some trendy directional indicators.

Slick and Ultra-Modern Inside

Some of the TT’s most impressive-looking aspects is its ultra-advanced, uncluttered interior that’s packed with modern gadgets and driver assistance technologies.
